Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities stated on late Wednesday. The athlete was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
