The experimental drug, which is still in research studies, is being promoted by online personalities for its supposed weight-reducing properties. Followers are urged to contact these accounts directly for supplier links, while also receiving promotional offers.

Separately, a flourishing market exists on Telegram, where groups with numerous of participants share “before and after” images, administration instructions and claims of rapid British shipping. Vendors market the drug there before directing buyers to other platforms for transactions.

Research also discovered groups with up to 9,000 members selling the experimental drug using Telegram's built-in search feature, which functions like a online catalog. Entering “retatrutide” immediately displays groups with thousands of members, filled with images of weight loss, glowing testimonials and step-by-step instructions for mixing or administering at home.

Within moments of entering one community, a vendor shared WhatsApp details, where most transactions take place. The vendor provided an instruction manual and guaranteed shipping within 48 hours. When asked whether the substance was genuine, one seller responded: “You can’t be sure.” Another shared a photo of a supposed laboratory certificate. None inquired about body mass, health issues or previous experience.

Within these groups, messages display dark colored packages with Royal Mail labels, claiming to include fresh supplies. One communication read: “It took eight of us to load them this morning.”

Buyers can choose between dry substance containers, prepared at home with purified liquid, or ready-to-use injectors usually priced at 160 pounds for 20 milligrams. When asked how much time a injector should be used, vendors give contradictory answers ranging from a few weeks to “depends on your body”.
