Local Fire Department reported it used several ladders and a pulley system to save the student

The Federal Aviation Administration is looking into the fatality of a parachuting trainer after he got detached from his student during a dive in Music City, TN.

Authorities say instructor Justin Fuller "is presumed to have fallen from the air without a parachute" during the jump on the weekend.

Fuller, 35, seems to have separated from his student and a dual harness, which links the two during a jump and includes the parachute.

A law enforcement aircraft located Fuller's body in a wooded area hours later. Local emergency crews utilized several ladders to access the middle-aged client who lived through the fall after being stuck on a tree for some time with the backup chute.

Police said several additional jumps, which occurred near Nashville's John C Tune airport, were carried out without incident before the fatal fall. The plane from which they jumped also touched down without issue.

It is unclear how Mr Fuller, an seasoned parachutist, became separated from the safety equipment.

A individual who helped rescue teams in the rescue told a local television station the student who authorities rescued mentioned "it was his first jump, and it was going to be his final one".

The instructor had recently written about his passion for instructing people how to parachute.

"Instructing individuals to skydive has always been in my view the most satisfying role at the jump site," Mr Fuller wrote in an Instagram post in the summer.

"Watching them learn the skills and start flying their selves is consistently a heartwarming experience. Occasionally though, it can get a little hectic up there when you release a student for their initial attempt."

That same month he shared images of the damage a jump aircraft he was on saying the plane's engine had malfunctioned after departure. Every individual onboard survived.
