President Donald Trump has denounced the gruesome killing of a motel manager of Indian descent hotel manager in Texas recently.

"Enough of being lenient on these Illegal Immigrant Criminals is OVER under my leadership," Trump stated in a post on his social media platform.

Background of the Tragic Incident

The victim, fifty years old, was allegedly assaulted with a machete by his co-worker the accused in front of his family after a dispute over a malfunctioning appliance.

The suspect, who is now in custody, has been accused of murder.

Trump’s Reaction

Trump stated that Mr Cobos-Martinez "will face justice to the maximum of the law" and will be "indicted for murder in the first degree."

He also criticized the current administration, claiming that Mr Cobos-Martinez had been previously arrested for several crimes, including alleged child endangerment, but was "released back into society because Cuba declined to take him back."

Immigration Background of the Accused

As per federal sources, Mr Cobos-Martinez is an undocumented immigrant with a deportation order of deportation from the US.

He was allegedly in custody at a facility in Dallas but was released on an order of supervision in January after Cuba "refused to accept him due to his criminal history."

Deceased’s Background

Nagamallaiah, who hailed from the Indian state of South India, worked at the a local motel in Dallas.

He attended educational institutions in Bengaluru, India, before moving to the US in 2018. His child just finished high school and is planning to begin college.

Details of the Incident

The attack occurred on September 10. Law enforcement received a "stabbing call" and confirmed through investigation that the suspect had attacked the victim repeatedly with an machete.

ICE has lodged a hold on Mr Cobos-Martinez at the Dallas County Jail, where he remains in custody.

Follow-up

Nagamallaiah’s last rites were conducted on September 13 in Flower Mound, attended by family and friends.

A donation drive initiated to aid his loved ones has collected over $321,000 so far.
