Local Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty cars have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Cars, walls and mailboxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.
The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.
Police then discovered many other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials state initial examinations suggest the fluid was likely blood from a person.
"There is still no lead as to its source; authorities are presently not aware of any harm in connection with the occurrence," they commented.
City officials announced they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the public for tips.
A high-ranking official stated the incident left him speechless and required to be resolved rapidly.
"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right attack in 2020," he posted on social media, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a shooter focusing on residents of migrant background in February 2020.
