Barça to Host First Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
Barcelona have announced they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Bilbao team in La Liga 30 months after they moved out so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced finished work included a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted a public practice inside the stadium earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body to host the next European match facing Eintracht in December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
