This historic hillside village, a ancient hillside village in Andalucía, about 45 minutes’ drive from Granada, is the breathtaking location for this creative getaway. Participants of every skill level – including novices – will be taught how to design and produce non-representational pieces. A portion of the time will be spent outside, working on guided exercises out in nature. These initial charcoal drawings and paintings will then be expanded upon in the workspace, with guests producing a number of interpretive scenes in acrylic paint to be displayed in the village. The group has exclusive access of the hotel, which is set around an open courtyard and has a sun terrace with views over the hills. The cost covers five days’ art instruction; full board; and an excursion to the local castle and additional local sights.

Street Dance in High Wycombe
This energetic camp is an energizing, welcoming weekend dance intensive for adults in High Wycombe. The format throughout the camp is a high-energy group warmup, followed by three 90-minute workshops teaching different street dance styles, then an 60-minute freestyle session to show off those solos. Participants are divided into levels according to skill level, so it is suitable for those who are completely new to popping and locking, right up to advanced dancers or teachers. The camp does not provide lodging but there are a number of places to stay nearby, and it is under an hour by train into central London.

Maritime Singing Break in Cornwall
This coastal town is the perfect spot for a sea shanty weekend. Participants will learn historic sailing songs from a folk singer and vocal coach, and have a go at composing original ones. The schedule includes vocal warmups, breath control techniques, performance tips and a closing performance. The retreat is held in a country house overlooking St Ives Bay. All meals are provided, such as a traditional tea on the first day, cooked or continental breakfasts, lunches to go and evening meals. Grog, alas, is not included. Author and tutor Greg Mosse runs the daily workshops on this authors' getaway. He explores topics including story structure, characters, setting and tension, to submitting work to publishers. A co-host, the well-known writer Kate Mosse, will co-host events at the beginning and end of the retreat. The retreat is held at a village-style hotel in Vamos at the base of the White mountains – ten one- and two-bedroom cottages surround a central garden with a pool (companions are encouraged to come along).
